Sunday 4th July -
walk to be led by James Kenny, District Archaeology Officer.
It will start at 10 am at Hog Common, near Yewtree Cottage, West Dean (NGR 483590 115480)
around a 4.5 mile circuit, which includes some moderate slopes, taking in Monkton DMV,
the Devil's Jumps and the Batten Hanger Roman villa site. We should be at the Royal Oak at
Hooksway around lunchtime but it might be advisable to bring a packed lunch in order to avoid delays.
As usual, bring something to drink and wear suitable footwear and clothing - remember, on his guided
walks it is best to assume it's going to rain! Permission from West Dean Estate is granted to park a
maximum of eight cars at Hog Common. Note that there will be a maximum of 16 places on this walk.

Sunday 3rd October -
walk to be led by James Kenny, District Archaeology Officer.
It will start at 10 am from the Trundle Triangle car park, the one on the north side of the hill
(NGR 487940 111380). It will be a 4 to 5 mile circuit including some steep hills. As usual, we shall
endeavour to be near to a hostelry at the appropriate time, but remember to bring appropriate refreshments.
Suitable footwear and a waterproof coat will probably be essential. Note that there will be a maximum of 16
